Shauna is busy sorting out her papers when a masked man sneaks up behind her and clamps a hand over her mouth. He warns her not to struggle or cry out when he takes his hand away. He forces Shauna to kneel before tying her wrists firmly together behind her back. Shauna does her best to reason with him, offering him whatever he wants, but instead of improving her situation by talking, she only makes it worse when he gags her. Shauna is pushed all the way down onto the floor to have her ankles bound together, the ends of the rope being used to pull her limbs into a hogtie. When the tying is complete, the man pulls Shauna's gag from between her teeth and asks her where the safe is located. When Shauna tells him, he puts the gag back in, warning her that she had better be telling the truth. In his absence, Shauna works on the ropes holding her legs, and even makes some progress before the man returns with her jewellery. Seeing that she has started to untie herself, he sets about retying her, tightening the rope linking her wrists and ankles until she can barely unbend her knees at all. To make sure Shauna doesn't move around the room in search of something to cut herself free after the burglar has gone, he blindfolds her. Moments later, his accomplice arrives and the two thieves help themselves to some more of Shauna's belongings before they leave her bound, gagged and blindfolded on her living room floor. Shauna hears their car start up and drive away, the ideal time to free herself... except that she can't.
