Anna has hired a gardener from an employment agency to clear away the ivy smothering her garden and climbing up the wall of her house. Unfortunately, the gardener the agency sends is rather old and doesn't work very hard. When Anna comes out to ask him if he wants any refreshments, she is instead struck by how little work he has done all day. When she challenges him and says she is not paying him to just sit around, he says he is leaving and he wants his money. When Anna says she will only give him ten dollars, the gardener loses his temper and grabs her, putting her in a choke hold until she slips into sleep. While Anna is out, the gardener retrieves the zip ties he brought along to tie up the roses and secures them around Anna's wrists and ankles. He then gags her with duct tape to make sure she doesn't start on at him again when she wakes. The gardener finishes the job he was hired to do, and when Anna stirs he asks her if she is going to pay him or not. When she shakes her head to indicate no and hurls muffled abuse at him through her gag, the man leaves her to it and drives away. Anna works her way into the house looking for something to cut the zip ties off her wrists and ankles but, wouldn't you know it, she just can't find her scissors anywhere.
