Private Investigator Carissa takes on extra work to boost her funds, such as delivering summonses when the police are too busy. She tries to serve the paperwork but her intended recipient becomes violent and punches her on the jaw, knocking her to the ground. Carissa lays stunned and rubbing her chin. In a matter of minutes, she is tied to a chair inside the man's house. As he ties rope around her body and secures her to the chair, she demands to know what he thinks he is doing, berating him for his stupidity. Tired of listening to her mouth, the man gags her and leave the room. Carissa struggles and, after a while, manages to free her hands. Before she can find the knots to the rope pinning her to the chair, the man returns with handcuffs that he took from Carissa's trenchcoat. He locks Carissa's wrists behind her, making sure she won't be able to get her hands free again.
