She took a short cut to avoid a congested highway. Her GPS unit instructed her to turn this way and that until it began sending her in circles. Turning off the unit, Monica Jade tries to navigate the old fashioned way using the sun for reference, but the more she tries, the more lost she becomes. Finally, she pulls over and tries to make a call on her phone. No signal. She climbs out of the car and walks around, phone held high, looking for a signal. She is so intent on this that she is unaware of a man approaching behind her, until the moment he embraces her and presses a cloth over her nose and mouth. Monica drops her phone, struggling frantically to break free before it is too late, but she fails. When she slowly recovers, she finds herself lying face down on the floor. She tries to move and realizes something is keeping her arms behind her back, something snared around her wrists. She can feel her legs being tied up and she weakly begins to struggle, still feeling groggy. She asks what the hell is happening, but the man does not speak to her. He merely gags her and carries on tying her up until she is secured in a hogtie. He goes to remove her car from view, leaving Monica to struggle. Where are the knots? Her finders can't locate any, and the ropes are tight. She hasn't been able to free herself at all by the time the man returns. He moves her to another room and secures her to a chair with plastic cuffs and zip ties. Now there is not even a slight chance of escape. Whoever the weird, silent guy is, he has got her. Monica's struggles soon subside; there's no point in exhausting herself because she knows she can't escape, not like this. She will have to wait and hope for a chance next time the man releases her body, if he ever does.
